We have wonderful bodies that are capable of doing so many things. A healthy, strong body is a gift that cannot be matched by any other. A weak, debilitated body is a burden and a constant bother not only to us, but to others as well.
When we have a weakened body, we have no energy, no strength. We tend to become lazy, lethargic and unproductive. Other people have to help us to do many things that a strong body could do by itself. We get sick more easily, our immune system is weakened, and we are exposed to more disease.
It is an unfortunate fact of life that the bodies we have tend to degenerate if not well taken care of. Our bodies must constantly be pushed to achieve higher levels just so we can maintain a good level of health and strength. Anyone who has ever exercised can testify to the fact that even if you exercise constantly for several months or years, if you stop exercising for any prolonged period of time your body loses its conditioning very rapidly. Try running six miles a day and then stopping all exercise for a couple of weeks. We will bet you that you will be hard pressed to match the performance your body gave on its last day of regular exercise.
Because of the body’s constant trend toward degeneration, exercise is not an option, it is a requirement. If we do not exercise our bodies regularly, we expose ourselves to a never ending list of potential problems, and we shorten our lifespans as well.
Now there are several myths and misinformation concerning exercise that are floating around in society. It is our intention to debunk the myths and give good information to our readers concerning this topic which is so indispensable to our overall health and happiness.
